#EBW26 Previews: 5C: Tools and processes for quality implementation and use cases
This session focuses on practical tools, methodologies and processes that strengthen quality management systems aligned with international standards such as ISO 20387. Experts will demonstrate how interlaboratory comparisons, proficiency testing and validation strategies strengthen reproducibility and data confidence. Attendees will gain hands-on insights into overcoming pitfalls, implementing quality controls and ensuring sample and data integrity across the biobanking lifecycle.
Speakers included in this session:
- Lavinia Curini – Flow cytometry–based quality assessment of serum and plasma for biobanking
- Sven Heiling – Closing the gap: Proficiency tests identify cryotube sealing deficits across biobanks
- Adami Valentina – HarmoNICo – Omics interlaboratory testing for the BBMRI.it-NICo Network
- Chiel de Theije – BBMRI.nl initiative to measure temperature variation within ULT freezers in Dutch biobanks
- Maike Tauchert – Paving the way for accreditation: The BBMRI-ERIC audit programme
This session will be chaired by:
Pasquale De Blasio, MBA
Pasquale De Blasio was the Founding President of ESBB and has contributed to the establishment of biobanks both in Italy and internationally. He is currently the Founder and CEO of Integrated Systems Engineering (ISENET) and brings over 45 years of experience in biobanking engineering and tissue microarray automation. He holds an MBA (SDA Bocconi) and BSc EE (Villanova University, USA).
Dr. Fatima Qafoud
