#EBW26: Previews: Meet the chairs for the keynote with Prof. Joacim Rocklöv

The first keynote of #EBW26 will be delivered by Prof. Joacim Rocklöv, Head of Heidelberg Planetary Health Hub and Alexander von Humboldt Professor at Heidelberg University. The subject of the keynote will be ‘How is climate change affecting infectious disease dynamics across Europe’. Read more about Prof. Rocklöv here.

Prof. Jens K. Habermann, M.D., Ph.D.

Prof. Jens K. Habermann, M.D., Ph.D. has been Director General of BBMRI-ERIC since September 2020 and is a Professor at the University of Lübeck. He obtained his M.D. training at the Medical University of Lübeck (Germany), received his Ph.D. at the Cancer Center Karolinska (Sweden), and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, NIH (Bethesda, USA). As board certified specialist in human genetics, Prof. Habermann combines clinics, biobanking and translational (cancer) research to optimise precision medicine.

Prof. Agnieszka Matera-Witkiewicz

Prof. Agnieszka Matera-Witkiewicz is the ESBB Vice-President and Head of WMU Regional Digital Medicine Centre and WMU Biobank – the first integrated biobank in Poland with an ISO 9001 certificate and the first international accreditation ISO 20387 in Poland.  

She is the BBMRI.pl QM leader, head of the Polish Committee for Standardization TC Biotechnology, an ISO Expert TC Biotechnology in WG2 Biobanks and Bioresource and OECD VLRI WG Polish Expert nominated by the Ministry of Science. She is the co-author of Quality Standards for Polish Biobanks Handbook– national standards for biobanking and Quality Handbook for Biobanks with NNs of BBMRI-ERIC endorsement.
